The NWFA Certified Flooring Inspector is a National Wood Flooring Association Certified Professional (CP). Hardwood flooring is an expensive investment that should offer decades of service. Unfortunately many hardwood floors and their installations are failing prematurely. When a wood floor fails a certified flooring inspector is often called upon to identify the cause of failure.
The NWFA CP Certified Flooring Inspector Expert
NWFA CP Certified Flooring Inspectors such as Terry Weinheimer are independent non-biased wood flooring experts. These certified flooring inspectors perform a thorough investigation, onsite testing and identify the cause of failure. Wood floor complaints may include product issues, improper installation or site related conditions such as moisture. Some of the more common complaints include finish issues, cupping and splitting of hardwood floors. The reports of the NWFA Certified Flooring Inspector are routinely used to settle complaints while avoiding legal action. NWFA CP Flooring Inspectors are also called upon when a forensic expert witness is needed for court testimony. Terry’s inspections and reports are known for being thorough, well documented, technically strong, supported by industry standards and focused on key issues.
Terry was trained as a wood flooring inspector by NOFMA. In 2004 he became the first NWFA Certified Flooring Inspector in the pacific northwest. Terry is certified by both the National Wood Flooring Association and the NWFA Certified Professionals.
NWFA Certified Flooring Inspector Qualifications
Becoming a NWFA Certified Flooring Inspector requires in-depth knowledge of the wood flooring industry and its products. The inspector must have the experience to determine the cause of failure. The wood flooring inspector must possess the ability to provide this information to the client in a concise, documented report. NWFA CP certified inspector candidates must pass a series of written exams. Upon passing, the candidate is placed upon probation, during which time the NWFA inspection committee must review and pass upon a series of written reports. To maintain certification the inspector is required to participate in continuing education courses and certify annually.
